• Hi guys

i have already searched the internet for the error message and that’s why i figured that its probably due to site and home url settings. but unfortunately i can’t get it running so i hope you can help me.

my brother is running a wordpress site in the root directory on a webserver (www.picture-blvd.de). we have a second domain that is linked to a subdirectory on the same server (www.picture-blvd.de/hotelmayfair) a second – namely my – wordpress installation can be found in https://www.picture/blvd.de/hotelmayfair/hcm-wp/wordpress.

As stated in several tutorials i copied the index.php to https://www.picture-blvd.de/hotelmayfair and edited the line to require( dirname( __FILE__ ) . '/hcm-wp/wordpress/wp-blog-header.php' )'

The site url is: www.picture/blvd.de/hotelmayfair/hcm-wp/wordpress and the home url should be www.hotelmayfair.de, which is our second domain. But this is causing the error message stated in the topic line. If i change the home url to www.picture/blvd.de/hotelmayfair/hcm-wp/wordpress then everything is working properly fine, apart from the ugly path in the address line.

Do you guys have any advice? Thanks!
