    Hi @mutlub

The issue is most likely caused by web server of your source website.
Please carefully follow the steps below for each site.

On the site where you made the backup:
    1. Go to our plugin settings and open “Other options” section
    2. Enable alternate download method: https://prnt.sc/1slr41w
    3. Save that section
    – No need to make new backup

Now, go to the site where you want to restore your backup:
    1. Open “Other options” section as well
    2. Disable PHP CLI checking: https://prnt.sc/1sljr31
    3. Save that section
    4. Force both processes to stop: https://prnt.sc/1trv1tm
    5. Try to run the migration again with the same URL

If that won’t work, please repeat the “force both processes to stop” step.
Once you do that, download your backup and try to upload it manually.

You can upload your backup via FTP, cPanel or our Upload Area.

Let me know if that solves your issue ??
    Thank you!

    Hi IClyde,
    thanks for the reply.
trying the migration again with the same URL and then manual upload of the backup did not work.
after manual upload, i got “Invalid Backup” “Uploaded file is not is not valid backup, we removed the file from the server” error.
by the way, I am trying to migrate a multisite subsite to a single site.
is that the reason for error?

    thanks for your help,
    regards,

    Hi @mutlub

The issue with invalid backup is not related to its content.
In any case it’s not possible to migrate subside of multisite installation due to WordPress nature – you need to migrate entire multisite website (our plugin support this, you need to setup multisite before migration).

Invalid Backup usually means exactly what it tells, the file you have may be broken or incompletely downloaded.

If you still get such error after my recommendations in previous post you may need to download the ZIP file manually from your server via FTP. Some hosting providers limits the maximum download size of file.

Before you do, make sure that the backup is visible on the backup(s) list on website where you made the backup. If it’s visible that means the file is valid and can be restored somewhere else as well.

To confirm if the file is broken, you can try to open it using WinRAR or 7-Zip.
If you can open the file without errors and you see file with .json ending and “manifest” in name, it’s correct.

Let me know if you confirmed that your backup is valid to go further ??
    Thank you!

    Hello @iclyde
i checked the backup file. i can open it but there is only a folder(with subfolder) named “wordpress”. there is no file with .json extension and no file with manifest.

    Hi @mutlub

That means the backup is incomplete, there is no database file as well.
It also means that the error “Invalid Backup” is correct.

Could you please, let me know if you can make new backup file?

If you can, please follow recommended settings for backup:
    1. Go to “Other options” section
    2. Change backup method: https://prnt.sc/1s1ofpa
    3. Disable PHP CLI checking: https://prnt.sc/1sljr31
    4. Modify query output: https://prnt.sc/1trxucl (set this value to 100)
    5. Save “Other options” section
    6. Force stop both processes: https://prnt.sc/1trv1tm

Before you download the file, make sure it’s visible on the backup(s) list.

    hi iclyde,
    exactly did what you said.
still there are no .json and manifest files inside the backup zip file. only wordpress folder exists.
by the way, the very fist backup file which was created without the modifications done on other options contains .json and manifest files.
    waiting for your comments,
thanks for your help so far,

    Hi @mutlub

If the backup works for you with default method you shouldn’t switch.
Default backup method: https://prnt.sc/1vyex21 (keep other changes)

Once you confirm that the backup file is valid you can try to restore ??

If you can’t make the backup file even with default method, you may try to exclude some groups of files – i.e. make separate backup file for uploads/other wp-content files (that may also help if the issue is caused by the size of your files).

Let me know if that works for you ??
    Thank you!

actually I had an error message when I did that very first backup. end I posted that message on the forum and you directed me to make modifications on other options tab. after the modifications i made 2 backups, and those are broken. when I checked the backup directory, i realized that a backup file was created during the very first backup although I got an error message.

    Hi IClyde,
this is the link for the error I got during the very first backup with default settings. https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/the-backup-process-ran-into-some-difficulties-error-report-2/#post-15641021
by the way, I tried to restore with with the very first backup file. and voila.. it worked. everything seems to be working although I got an error message during the backup process.

thanks for your help so far,

    Hi @mutlub

I missed one factor in the live-log of your “failed” backup.
Seems like the process was not canceled, the question is why you get the false-positive error.

Could you please send me URL to the working backup via e-mail?
    – [ support (at) backupbliss dot com ]? I’ll check what could cause it.

False positive may be caused when any of below is negative:
    a) Your PC won’t go into sleep-mode
    b) Screen-saver mode is not enabled or active
    c) [Mac] Drive-sleep mode is not enabled
    d) You have not run the restoration from Opera GX browser
    e) You don’t use any extension that limits resource usage or “saves energy”
    e.2) Including ad-blockers and pop-up blockers

Let me know if you could match with any of above and looking forward your e-mail.
    Thank you!

    Hi IClyde,
i sent the link to your email address.
I am using brave browser. it has ad blocking feature. this seems to be matching e.2) Including ad-blockers and pop-up blockers
