• Hi, i’m looking for a slideshow plugin which will embed the slideshows on my website directly into the posts, no flash stuff.

You can view my slideshows at https://www.maccusfoto.nl . From the images on the front page, I created a link to an external PHP script that plays the slideshows.

What I want is that a click on the photograph should start playing the slideshow EMBEDDED in the post, and that I can rearrange the order of the pictures from the wp-admin panel.

I know there are a lot of plugins, but i don’t want to test them all, it would take me weeks to figure out what would be the right one..

  • are you using gallery 2? I clicked on Picture and got the slideshow like screen simular to Gallery2

You can use nexgen gallery plugin to add a slideshow to a post or a page, I just did this today. But I am actually looking for a slideshow plugin that will not live within a post or page-

I’m not using Gallery, it is WordPress with a custom php script. I know about the nextgen slideshow, but when you have 5 flash slideshows on your frontpage, loading of the page becomes slow. Ah, wel maybe i’ll just keep it this way…

@twaechte: You can download the php from https://www.maccusfoto.nl/slideshow/slideshow.zip

You can link from a post to index.html for a flash slideshow, it will detect if there is no flash installed and redirect to index.php for a non-flash show. The imagerotator is the same flash binarie as used in nextgen. You can edit the settings in index.html and the flashvars are documented on https://www.jeroenwijering.com/extras/readme.html

If you don’t want the flash you can directly link to index.php You can set some variables in vars.php. The scripts depend on the directory hierarchy as offered in the zip file. You have to rename your photo’s to 01.jpg, 02.jpg, etc.

Maybe someone can make a nice easy to use wordpress-plugin of this script…
