    Hi,

We are using the latest version 5.135. There are no conflicting plugins as I deactivated every plugin when trying to figure out the issue. There is an essential plugin for our theme (BuddyBoss) called BuddyBoss Platform. It has to be activated in order for the issue to be recreated.

Here is the issue, when selecting a few roles which bypass the spam test, it does not work. Any role chosen via “Roles which bypass spam test” in “Advanced Settings” will get an error message when trying to post a topic because they are not bypassing the spam test.

How can I accomplish a complete bypass for a user role? Or how can I fix this issue?

    Thanks and regards

    Hello,

Thank you for the feedback! We have fixed the problem ( added role exclusions to BuddyBoss )

Please, reinstall the plugin. ( Download link: https://github.com/CleanTalk/wordpress-antispam/releases/download/dev-version/cleantalk-spam-protect.zip )

    Here is an instruction:

    1. Go to WordPress Administrator Panel —> Plugins.
    2. Find the plugin “Spam Protection by CleanTalk” —> Deactivate.
    3. After the automatic page refreshing find the plugin again “Spam Protection by CleanTalk” —> Delete. Confirm “Yes, delete these files”.
    4. Download the plugin archive from the link above.
    5. Go to Plugins —> Add New —> Upload Plugin.
    6. Choose the downloaded archive and press “Install Now”.

Contact us if you have any questions.

    Hi,

Thank you for that! Unfortunately, it did not work. I followed your instructions exactly then cleared my browser’s cache as well as our website’s cache. I then deactivated all plugins and the issue still persisted regarding the denial of a post due to the email per that account.

Just so that I am in complete understanding, what exactly does the bypass roles do? Is it supposed to completely disregard that role and accept it as it is a safe account?

    Best regards

    Hello, @tips4gamers

Yes, this option allows to exclude certain groups of users from anti-spam checking.

Could you please check the opertion of the option once again using this guide:

    Thank you.

    Hello, @tips4gamers

Please, try to add the role “Author”. It should help.

    Thank you.

    Hi @amagsumov,

It still does not work. It spam checks it and stops any account. I tried it with the role we are going after as well as the author and nothing worked.

    Best regards

    Hi @safronik,

Thank you for that! I did as you said and tested it out and it worked out great!

Also, I was approving them in the Cleantalk dashboard but there is no need now as the issue is fixed.

You all have a good one and stay safe. We are using the plugin for a month or so before we give a review in order to help people out more. For right now, it has completely stopped spam bots or people without a valid email from creating accounts and then they end up filling up our “Pending Signups” page. So far we love it and it definitely has gave us peace of mind, so thank you.
