• Hello,

I just tried to update three plug-ins that were showing as out-of-date. One worked fine, but two others showed an error. Without taking too much notice, I refreshed the page so I could start again. However, the page gave an error “The site is experiencing technical difficulties.”

How can I fix this? I don’t remember which plug-ins failed to update, even assuming that’s the problem. I can’t access any pages at all, as they all give the same error.

I don’t want to delete the plug-ins, as I don’t exactly remember which I have activated and which not.

    Anyone any ideas? Thanks

P.S. I just restarted the site, and now the public site is working, but I can’t access the admin pages.

Errors like this are logged. Check the error log on your server. If you can’t find the log, please contact your host.

Meantime, enable wp_debug and wp_debug_log and after an error, look at wp-content/debug.log to see if anything gets logged there. https://www.ads-software.com/support/article/debugging-in-wordpress/

You can also try this: Please attempt to disable all plugins, and use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of your troubles.

If you cannot access wp-admin, there are other ways to deactivate plugins.
