The team has updated my version of wordpress

    Good morning.
    For the first time in 4 years of using the wpress, it has updated me alone.
    I received an email signed by the Team of WordPress notifying me that I have updated to version 3.8.2
    Is that possible? Did they make backups?
    Is this possible or my websites have been hacked? I’m scare. I do not understand.
    Could be maybe because I changed my hosting ?
    Somebody help me and clear my this please.

  • I received an e-mail yesterday that I was updated to 3.8.2 last evening also and now my site has lost content and sidebars and I can not get it back correctly.

    I am furious – there is no support! WP did an update and they have screwed up my entire site. I had no customizations – settings for my theme simply do not work and there is no way of getting any assistance. A mini sidebar is part of the theme yet it suddenly disappeared and I can’t get it back. it is set to be there but it isn’t.

    Yes. Since 3.7, WordPress has had the ability to perform minor updates unattended (ie automatically).

    Did they make backups?

    No. It’s up to you to set up a regular backup process for your database etc.

    The update has not spoiled anything on my website.
    I’ve only had to fix the plug qTranslate because still no version for wp 3.8.2

    Could you advise me a plugin for backing up?
    One who also is upgraded with new versions of wordpress.

    Currently I do backups manually
