• Hi @themepoints ! Congrats on the plugin. Great work.

I’m the author of the ‘Team Showcase’ plugin that’s available on Codecanyon. As you’re aware, we have a ‘namespace’ issue because of the way WordPress automatically searches for updates and it will display your plugin as an update for mine. I would love to work with you to find a solution that would benefit both and avoid support requests for both.

I have solved this issue on the latest versions of my plugin, but there are still hundreds of people who are probably still using older versions of my plugin and will get affected by this.

I was wondering if you were open to find a solution together?

I was thinking maybe you could include a warning that would display if entries from the custom post type ‘tshowcase’ (created by my plugin) existed. You could include a link to a page hosted by you (or me) where we would explain the situation and maybe even include instructions on how to migrate to your plugin or manually update to the newest version of mine to solve the problem.

Let me know if you’re open to this solution. Would be great if we could work together to solve this.

    Cheers, Carlos

  • Carlos – Thanks for posting this! All of our staff team disappeared, and I couldn’t figure out what had happened, and why the plugin was generating completely different short codes. It took a while, and no small bit of panic, to figure this out and get it resolved. I realized I had the plugin on another subdomain and that one was still in its original form, so I was able to migrate it over to the main site and get it working again. But that was after testing database backups a month old and all sorts of other stuff. Yes, themepoints, PLEASE work with Carlos to find a solution to this. Your plugin hijacked another one, inadvertently, of course.

This explains the problem I was experiencing. Thank you for posting this.

I just sent @carlosmoreirapt and email via codecanyon. My plugin keeps updating to this by themepoints & I wouldn’t have realized that was the case without this post.

    Hi @carlosmoreirapt,
Sorry for the late response because I was on vacation for a few days. It would be great if we could work together to solve these issues and avoid support requests. we already notice this namespace issue a few months ago & again the same issues When releasing mine plugin it disappeared your old version that already installed many authors but I’m not sure why @jaimechandra given me 1-star feedback. It’s a WordPress namespace issues. I’m personally replied few authors when they are contacted with me directly & @jaimechandra think our support is unresponsive.

Hi @themepoints ! Thank you for your answer! Glad you’re willing to work together. If you use slack, look for me in the WordPress group https://make.www.ads-software.com/chat/ with the name ‘Carlos Moreira’.

We can chat about a solution. I think the solution of checking for entries of my custom post type might be the best approach, but if you have any other ideia let me know. Greetings, Carlos
