The text editor botton does not work
-
After the Gutenberg update, the text button does not work for me in the classic editor.
I can’t work in html, I click on the text button but it doesn’t work! I think it’s due to this update, in fact it worked well before! Also other plugins don’t work properly.

Yep
I’m havimg the same issue@chanthaboune @melchoyce @alexislloyd
Is it possible that the problem is not solved? I have the same problem on all my sites! I noticed that the link link button does not work too and if you click on it, the page will freeze!
Gutenberg is the bane of WordPress! Perhaps the cause of his demise!
And I can’t use Gutenberg like so many because the site is bilingual and works with a plugin! and with Gutenberg this plugin does not work!
How do you solve this problem?
Because you have complicated this machine that worked so well!please solve the problem, I can’t insert banners or videos in the articles or in the pages!

Sounds like a js error on the Edit Post screen. Hoping this is already resolved or you’ve already done the second step of the troubleshooting from the “sticky” post at the top and identified which plugin is causing the error.

Hi @azaozz
Yes I solved,
I tried disabling Gutenberg and now it works and Yoast Seo works too! But it’s not a problem or my mistake but it’s a mistake of all, with the April update you have to deactivate Classic editor.
In fact I had the problem on other sites too.
But the most serious thing is that on WordPress there is no real assistance, and if you have problems they are serious problems and nobody answers and you don’t have real assistance.
For me Gutenberg will be the death and the end of WordPress, surely many will look for less complicated platforms and I assure you that they are there!
I’ve tried using Gutenberg without Classic editor, it’s impossible, many plugins don’t work and the test editor is complicated.
Then my site is bilingual and the plugin got tired of continuously updating the plugin and therefore I can’t post in bilingual with Gutenberg! Attention is not a plugin of an automatic translator but of pages registered in bilingual.
For me it would be ideal for those of WordPress to make Gutenberg a non-main editor and a plugin and leave Classic editor as the main editor.
The problem that first wordpress was updated every 4/5 months now instead every two months and even less is updated and from there you have to update Gutenberg and all plugiun otherwise they do not work! And so they get bored and don’t update the plugins, but that’s what WordPress wants, only it doesn’t have all the plugins that are on the platform and how does it replace them? like that of languages? The Gutenberg Galleries suck! Just like a system.
Then the plugins are also paid, and many sites like mine are addicted and cannot replace some plugins.
Andrew excuses the Google automatic translation and thanks for the answer, and little but it is something ??Ah, I understand. Yes, change is hard, and one plugin only working with Gutenberg, and another only working with the classic editor is quite unfortunate… I’m pretty sure Yoast Seo is (or will be) fixed to work with the classic editor too.
You are right, switching to the block editor (Gutenberg) may look hard at first as it introduces some new concepts. But once you use it a few times, it is actually not that different ?? It has some new “toolbars” and “buttons” but most of the functionality is the same as in any other editor.
I also know that there are many new plugins that are being actively developed to work with the block editor. It may be pretty hard at the moment to find a good replacement for a particular plugin that is not updated, but these new plugins are released almost every day ??
excuses the Google automatic translation…
No problems, it’s actually pretty good (as far as I can tell). Thank you for posting your response!
(@azaozz)Thanks for the reply and sorry for the delay of mine.
Yes everything works now, even the links!Sorry, but (Gutenberg) is not difficult, it’s more complicated and you lose more time, Editor Classic is more professional and more at hand.
Gutenberg remembers the drag and drob of the newsletters! You can’t replace some plugins! Some are indispensable! If you remove plugins, delete the settings of a site and without those plugins some functions skip!
Tell me a plugin for to translate not as automatic as that of qTranslate-X?
thanks
GiuseppeYes everything works now, even the links!
Great to hear it ??
You can’t replace some plugins! Some are indispensable!
Yes, I agree. But if a plugin becomes “obsolete” and is not updated, eventually another plugin will come and replace it. May not be a 100% match, but… better than trying to use an old, obsolete plugin when everything else keeps updating and changing.
Even if there’s no good solution now, I’m pretty sure there will be one in the future.
