Possibly your Spanish translation files for Complianz have to be updated before the texts are translated.

You can do this under Dashboard > Updates in the left-hand WordPress Menu, scroll down the page until you find an “Update Translations” button, and click it.

You can also update the Spanish translation files manually. I have uploaded the latest versions on this WeTransfer link: https://we.tl/t-UQyyFuKX4a

You can upload both of the above files (.mo/.po) to the /wp-content/languages/plugins/directory on your website, and the Spanish translations should be applied upon doing so.

I have uploaded the two files via ftp to the web directory, in /wp-content/languages/plugins/ and the change is not applied, the text in English continues to be displayed. ??

I have cleared cache, (in case that helps) but it doesn’t work either.

I applied the exact same steps on my a new WordPress site which has Spanish as the Site Language under Settings > General in WordPress, where this does work as expected: https://layout.instawp.xyz/politica-de-cookies-ue/

Do you use a translation plugin where you might have to adjust the configuration as well?

Hi @anabsw,

It could be due to a certain configuration in PolyLang concerning “URL modifications”?(found under Languages > Settings > URL Modifications).

The URL modifications option in PolyLang should be set to a setting such as?“The language is set from the directory name in pretty permalinks”, instead of?“The language is set from content”.

That’s great, thank you for the quick confirmation as well.

You can create an “English” version of this page in PolyLang, and indeed, then you can just add the shortcode (or Gutenberg Block) to the page and PolyLang will use the English translations for this version. Also see: https://complianz.io/configuring-for-polylang/
