    Dear developers!

First of all,if you could please click on the archive link and tell me what crap this code is: https://www.successstories.co.in/archives-2/

Secondly, some categories aren’t opening; they are getting redirected to other categories.

Third issue is the load time. I have checked with my host provider and they said that the problem was with the theme and not with the server.

The blog gets about 3000 visitors a day and it is so embarrassing for us to not fix the error.

Note: I deactivated all the plugins to see if any of them were causing the problem but the real culprit seems to be something else.

    I will appreciate your questions,

    Have you tried:

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

I wanted to add that the same theme had been serving us well for over a year and a half and no such issue occurred.
Can it possibly be a fatal error in coding? The question is how to detect what is causing the problem.

    Thanks for your input esmi!

I do not think Plugins are to blame. I have limited number of pluggins on the website and are being used for several months. And I have no idea how to switch to Twenty Eleven theme. Let me look around for similar thread.

The problem was occurring due to a faulty code in the header. I deleted it and the garbage codes are gone. But the site is still very slow.
Can any of you shed light on that?

The front page has over 250 warnings?
So I have to bring them to ‘0’?
Or the WordPress themes do contain such warnings?

    WPyogi

    (@wpyogi)

Some errors (and warnings) are not a big problem, but missing or stray or extra or unclosed tags are a problem. Duplicate IDs too. Google also does not like invalid code, so it’s to your advantage to clean those kinds of things up.

Yes, some themes do have coding errors in them – partly because some “errors” are not really mistakes but a result of changing coding standards or browser inconsistencies.

    Thanks Yogi!

I have asked my wife to try and fix ’em all.

LOL! That’s true love! But the real question is what are you doing for her? (Maybe you should not answer that here — ha ha!)

    Thread Starter alexwrld

    (@alexwrld)

It is her website and her theme. As a responsible husband, I’m doing all I can..social media and the stuffs like that. The blog gets about 3k to 5k pageview per day so she is doing good ??

    WPyogi

    (@wpyogi)

Ah okay…so you’re really the good guy here – sweet. Sounds like you’re both doing good!

FYI, many of the errors are likely in her content…it’s pretty easy to track those down using the validator results line numbers and Firebug and View Source of the rendered HTML code.

My 3 year old son is listening to John Mayor’s Free Falling so she has got time to look into them one by one. She is saying that some warnings and errors are so confusing.
I will keep the thread open and hope you will stay in touch.

    Thanks,
    Alex

She is unable to understand some of them. For example the following:
Line 210, Column 142: cannot generate system identifier for general entity “h”
    …tent/uploads/2012/11/Garrett-Camp.jpg&h=90&w=90&zc=1" class="teaser_img" alt="…

She checked the first page of the blog:

images are properly defined and are opening well, then why are they showing as warning?

    Thread Starter alexwrld

    (@alexwrld)

    Hi Esmi and Yogi!
She has worked on the validator and now the warning is showing to ‘0’ earlier, it was showing 263. https://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.successstories.co.in%2F&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0&user-agent=W3C_Validator%2F1.3

The real problem still remains the same…The site is still very slow.

    What else should be done?
