    hi,

i installed site kit by google, and connected it to my google analytics, google console, and google tag managers. but it seems not to work. previously i manually installed the tracking code, and since installation of the plugin, i removed the code. now there is no tracking code in the source code, and also no data update on analytics. is this normal? should i still install the tracking code?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hello @breadf ,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

By reviewing your site I can’t see any Google Analytics snippet. To go more deeply can you please share your Site Health information via form privately so we can inspect Site Kit setup.

Thanks for sharing. From inspecting the details provided it looks indeed as you mentioned, that the plugin has not inserted the Analytics tracking code on your site. That’s not a problem however that you removed your manually inserted snippet, you just need to go back into your Analytics settings within Site Kit and allow the plugin to insert your Analytics tracking snippet (Site Kit > Settings > Analytics > Edit).

After performing the above you can use the Analytics real time report to ensure your visits are being tracked – just be sure to visit your site while not logged in when checking. Alternatively we can check your site once more if you let us know when you’ve applied this setting. You can also use https://tagassistant.google.com/ to ensure your site is being tracked with the Site Kit placed snippet active.

Also note that while you mentioned Search Console and Tag Manager in your support topic your Search Console connection seems active, connected to an associated domain type property. I can see a Tag Manager container active, with the snippet placed via Site Kit.

Let me know once you add the Analytics snippet via Site Kit and we can check your site once more. Or feel free to let us know if you have any further queries with the above.

    sorry for late reply.

I’ve set the Analytics setting to add the tracking snippet. it seems to work now. please check.

I also tried https://tagassistant.google.com/. where are there 2 containers for tagmanager and analytics respectively, please?

    Hello @breadf ,

By inspecting your site I can see Google Analytics snippet. I hope you’ll start seeing stats in real-time traffic at the Google Analytics service Dashboard. As for the 2 containers you are referring one is associated with Google Analytics & other is related to Tag Manager.
