    Hi Devon,

    I like your plugin, and it seems to be working.

    I’ve been up a few days.

    I have 25 Subscribers, but 8 are not yet confirmed.

    Is it normal that a few never finish the process? Is it as much as one third?

    Is there another way to finish the confirmation process, if I know that they really want to subscribe?

    Via Import, perhaps?

    Hi Dan,

    Thanks for trying out Post Notif. I’m glad to hear it is working for you thus far (and congratulations on the early subscribers)!

    I don’t have a steady pulse on confirmation rates but it doesn’t surprise me to hear that a significant portion of folks have not confirmed. It sounds, from your description, that they are legitimate requests, however, (as opposed to bots randomly filling out fields ?? ), and it is true that at the moment (v1.0.9) there is not an obvious way for an admin to confirm a subscriber who has subscribed via the widget. I am in the midst of development for v1.1.0 which will remedy this situation.

    In the meantime, my recommendation is precisely what you figured out on your own; export the subscribers in question, delete them, and then (re-)import them (at which point they’ll be confirmed, subscribed to all categories, unless you specify otherwise during the import step). Obviously, please be sure to back up your database prior to embarking on this!

    Hi Dan,

    Just in case you find yourself in a similar situation in the future, I wanted to let you know that Post Notif v1.1.0 now allows admins to confirm subscribers from the Manage Subscribers page. You can either hit the “Confirm” link to confirm a single subscriber (which will subscribe them to all categories) or you can select multiple subscribers, select “Confirm” from the Bulk Actions dropdown, and hit the Apply button, to confirm all of those you selected. Please note that this only affects unconfirmed subscribers.

    Uh-oh – the upgrade broke your plug-in.

    Had to disable it.

    “Fatal error: Can’t use function return value in write context in /home/smithgeraint/public_html/wp-content/plugins/post-notif/admin/class-post-notif-admin.php on line 796”

    I need to get back to the previous version if this isn’t fixed.
