When trying to replace any media file I receive the following error message – the media replace fails.

string(221) “The uploaded file could not be moved to C:/Websites/WEBSITENAME/wp-content/uploads/C:/Websites/WEBSITENAME/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/NBRHC-Flyer.pdf. This is most likely an issue with permissions, or upload failed.”

Permissions have not been altered on the server.

    Hello,

We have included a fix for this situation in this version of the plugin:

    https://shortpixel.com/downloads/enable-media-replace-4.0.1-DEV04.zip

Can you please check with this version, preferably on a test/development environment, and let us know if it works correctly?

    Thank you!

    Hello @itroww,

I want to clarify one thing: if you tried to replace one of your existing PDF files and failed, then most likely that one won’t be possible to replace again because it’s most likely seen by WordPress as missing (because of the wrong path).

I’ve done a lot of tests with various files in a multisite Windows environment (similar to yours I hope) and it works for files that have not been touched by EMR 4.0.0.

In conclusion, can you please upload a new PDF file, then try to replace it with another PDF file, using the dev version I mentioned above, and let me know how it goes?

We appreciate your patience and help with all this!

    Thanks,
    Pedro

    Hi Pedro,

Appreciate the speedy response. I have tested your DEV plugin and can confirm it works as expected – I am able to replace media items again.

Thank you for addressing this issue so quickly. I look forward to the next plugin update when this fix will be released.

Hello @bigbigl and thanks for your confirmation!

The update has already been released, so please update to version 4.0.1 because it already contains the fix.

Using 4.0.1 and a new file upload as suggested above, I still receive the following error:

string(187) "The uploaded file could not be moved to /home/[sitename]/public_html/[sitename]//wp-content/uploads/2022/12/test.png. This is most likely an issue with permissions, or upload failed."
