• I’m very new to this program and kind of learning as I go. I’ve been trying to upload pictures to one of my pages and every time I get:
    NRossiter.jpg
The uploaded file could not be moved to wp-content/uploads.
I’ve tried changing the permissions as some articles have suggested and still no luck. Any other ideas?

  • Contact your hosts and ask them to check if you have a folder ownership issue.

I just spoke with them and the consultant was very familiar with our account. He explained that their security does not allow me to upload directly to WordPress. I have to upload through FTP and then go to a specific file in WordPress to get them to show up in the media gallery. He wasn’t sure of the exact steps because it’s been some time since the previous site manager had to make any changes.

I’m sorry but it sounds like you are not actually self-hosting but using some sort of hosted solution. These forums are for self-hosted WordPress sites only, so there’s very little we can do to help here.

If you are, in fact, self-hosting, then I would strongly recommend that you consider moving to another (and better) hosting company asap.
