The webpage cannot be found – What next?

  • Hello all,
    I have created my FTP, mySQL database, and installed FileZilla. I have also downloaded WP 3.4.2 and configured my wp-config.php file and added it to FileZilla. I have uploaded to https://www.darwinuriel.us/maya but i get “The webpage cannot be found” message. The web site is there and I have changed my DNS control servers to my new host provider.

    I do not know what to do next so I can get the wp-amin/install.php and log into wp.

  • “I have changed my DNS control servers to my new host provider.” – are you aware of the fact that it can take up to 72 hours for a change in Name Servers to make its way across the planet?

    There doesn’t appear to be any WordPress files at darwinuriel.us/maya

    darwinuriel.us seems to work just fine.

    darwinuriel.us/maya/ results in a 404.

    the /maya directory doesn’t seem to exist.

    jonradio, than you for your comment. I changed the DSN a couple of days ago; I will wait a little longer to ensure this is the issue.

    Hi Clayton, Thank you for reviewing the website. I agree, I cannot locate /maya and I see the 404 error. I am certain I followed the instructions. I reviewed lynda.com and youtube; the instructions were almost identical.

    I am still stumped.

    I tested the firewall and router configurations and received the following message:
    Response: 150 opening data connection
    Response: 503 Failure of data connection.
    Server sent unexpected reply.
    Connection closed

    Anysuggestions around this?

    Can you create a new folder like

    darwinuriel.us/test

    Put a photo into that folder and see it you are able to view it on the internet.

    Have you contacted your webhost and asked them to check that you;ve uploaded the WP files correctly?
