• Hi All,

    I own a domain (www.convistudio.com) and I have added a sub-domain (https://fardausrahmat.com). I installed WP into the sub-domain and I get this message:

“An instance of WordPress was installed on https://fardausrahmat.com
    Full installation path: /public_html/fardausrahmat.com
    Public URL: https://fardausrahmat.com/”.

I guess this would say that I’ve been successful in the installation, however, when I tried to open the address, I got an error message saying that the webpage is not available.

Do I have to do further settings? Kindly help me here as I wish to further blogging, even though my main website is not ready.

    Thank you.
    Fardaus

  • For one thing — https://fardausrahmat.com would not be a subdomain. That would be an add on domain. A sub domain would be https://whatever.convistudio.com. Second — https://fardausrahmat.com doesn’t exist which means either you haven’t set it up as an addon domain OR it hasn’t propagated yet if you have. If you have, propagating can take up to 72 hours so just keep trying.

    Hi thisisedie,

    Thank you for your reply.

I may have the address as an add on domain. I installed WP in fardausrahmat.com folder in my /public html. How do I set the folder as an add on domain? I’ll try to figure this soon.

Oo yea… one more thing, the error message that I have when I tried https://fardausrahmat.com is “Error 105 (net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED): The server could not be found”.

    Is this a setup issue?

    Thank you.

    Hi All,

I just realised that I have to register my addon domain with a registrar, in order to make the addon domain functional.

Is this the solution to my problem? Am I at the right track?

    Thank you.

Yes you need to register the domain even though it is considered an add-on domain by your host.

Don’t get confused with add-on domains–hosts that use something like cPanel, setup your account with your main domain, then all additional domains are called add-on domains.
