The word “save” appears twice after editing

  • Fairly new to WordPress,(one year). A few months ago I started to notice the word Savesave appear on the published post after I edited it. I have found that if I go to text and search the photo codes I can find, delete and update to “fix it”.

    It’s probably a plugin I installed causing it but if anyone knows exactly what it is, it would be helpful. Thank you.

    It’s probably a plugin I installed causing it but if anyone knows exactly what it is,

    Have you tried:
    – deactivating ALL (yes all) plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem (plugin functions can interfere). If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s).
    – switching to the unedited default Theme (Twenty Seventeen.) for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

    Thank you, no I have not gone through those processes yet. I knew about the deactivate all plugins but I didn’t think about the theme, thank you.

    My theme by the way is “Brilliant Plus”.

    You’re the man! I do use Safari and I do have the Pinterst extension, I just uninstalled the extension and will reply with an answer in a day or two. Thank you!

    So far, no good. I uninstalled the Safari Pinterest extension, restarted the computer and I’m still getting the same results. Very interesting

    Did you delete the injected HTML?

    The Pinterest plugin adds it while editing. When you save the injected HTML becomes part of the post.

    Removing the Pinterest plugin should prevent further incidence but you still need to remove what got added and saved.

    You are right, on that post I only deleted the words “save”. I just edited a new post with no problems. I have not removed the pinterest plugin,….yet.

    In case anyone wants to still use the bookmarklet which allows you to activate the pinterest pin function manually here it is. Create a new bookmark and paste this in as the destination:
