• Dear all

I get a problem to access my Wordpess administration page.

The page can be login by IE 11 under windows 7 only.

I tried Chrome, Firefox under windows 7, and MS Edge, IE 11, Chrome under Windows 10, all of them cannot login to the admin page.

It just remove the entered password to a blank field, no other warning message.

It is not created to cookie problem, I cleaned and even used a new PC to test it.

As the windows 7 will discontinue soon, any hints to solve the problem.

Thank you for your kind attention.

  • have you tried deactivating all your plugins? You can remove them from or rename them so they will not run.

The only thing I know of that will run on an old version ie11 that will not work on modern browsers is ActiveX. It wouldn’t make much sense to use it in anything. Since IE was the only browser to ever support it.

    Hello

    Thank you for your reply.

I tried to deactivate the plugins Akismet, and All in one SEO pack, but no help.

The rest plugins seems not related to login security.

I have to keep a version of ie11 around for now because I have a package that still being used that contains ActiveX. I haven’t really had any problems with ie11 accessing pages.

The only other thing I can think of is maybe it a difference in javascript versions or maybe PHP that the theme or plugin is using code that been deprecated. You might want to look at it in chrome and check the console under the inspector for errors that might be occurring. Also, you can check the error logs for PHP to see if anything funny is happing there.

Sorry, can’t think of anything else!
