The WordPress has a Serious Problem of Permalink Settings
-
I have been using the beautiful WordPress since long…
I have around 5-6 WordPress blogs running successfully. You can check their links in my profile.
There is one serious problem with WP about the setting of Permalinks. By default it is set to something like the following –
Default https://vsagar.com/students/?p=123
Day and name https://vsagar.com/students/2010/12/30/sample-post/
Month and name https://vsagar.com/students/2010/12/sample-post/
Numeric https://vsagar.com/students/archives/123Now suppose I change the permalink setting to Day and name and I forward one link of my blog to my friend, say,
https://vsagar.com/students/share-your-ideas/But when I change the permalink setting back Default the same link becomes as follows –
https://vsagar.com/students/?page_id=102
Now in the meantime, if my friend, pastes the given link into his browser and tries to visit it, the browser shows him 404Error, the page is not found…!
This is just horrible….
My blog is there, but the world cannot see it…
So the settings of permalinks should be done during the very beginning of installing WP. Once you design and customize your blog, and send such links here and there, you are restricted not to change it…
THERE SHOULD BE SOME SOLUTION ON IT…
