• Looks like Theme My Login is conflicting with either the latest WP versions, or not playing nice with other plugins as we’ve been having some issues for a while.
Latest is that it won’t process Lost Password Requests properly. It always throws an error.

It may be that we use Wordfence and have a fair amount of security built into our sites now, but I am struggling to find something as nice as the way Theme-My-Login works for managing Logins outside the WP Dashboard

  • Websherpa, to be more specific, when you’re encountering errors on lost password requests – is this to do with the URL key expiring?

I’m getting the following when trying to access the generated URL containing the unique key for resetting the password:

    ?action=lostpassword&error=expiredkey

To be honest, we discontinued use of TML for now as it no longer appeared stable in a number of our installations after 3.9.1 and are awaiting updates before trying it again.

    yes cruelmelody,
I am also have the same problem with Theme My Login 6.3.9 with WordPress 3.9.1. everytime a new user register, WP will sent activation link.

but then when the new user click the link to activate his/her ID then WP said that his/her activation key expired.

TML need to be updated to be working with latest WP

    regards.

I will be doing some testing now.

It’s a great plugin (when working for us), so I would re-instate it’s use to test it for our clients once we know that it’s actively supported. Normally we donate to Plugin Authors, where we use their free plugins regularly on our commercial sites if given the chance.

What have you been using for login options since disabling TML?

Upon testing TML 6.3.9 against a fresh install of WP 3.9.1, both password reset and user activation work as expected for me.

    (@websherpa)

Will give it another test when I get a chance. We have had other issues cropping up because of the “automated” install of 3.9.1. In the meantime we have not been using any alternative, just the basic WP Login.

Hi, we have the same problem with WP 3.9.1 & 6.3.10 TML.
    Users can register but ?action=lostpassword&error=expiredkey
I have to say that this is by far the best plugin I’ve tested for login / registration but unfortunately if not working we can not use it.
We want to use it but …

I hope it will be corrected as soon as possible

I just found this plugin and it would be perfect, but I too am this error. When a user goes to active their registration, they get a change password screen. The url says
    ?action=lostpassword&error=invalidkey

hi, just to let you know i fix my issue.

I think it was problem with WP 3.9.1 & iThemes Security 4.3.7 (formerly Better WP Security).

    what I did:

    -delete TML 6.3.10 & iThemes Security 4.3.7
    -re-installed the WP
    -re-installed TML 6.3.10
    -installed Better WP Security 3.6.6

now is working as it should!
    -activation no problem
    -lostpass no problem

    Tnx love your plugin!!!

I wonder if other also have iThemes Security 4.3.7?

    Hi odisey.nfo,

    thank you for your confirmation.
yes, I also installed iThemes Security (formerly Better WP Security).
but since I no longer have installer for Better WP Security plugin then I disable Hide Backend option on iThemes, and TML working properly as previous.

Nice to have TML still working on WP3.9

I think this thread can be close as resolved

    (@websherpa)

    am3n and odisey.nfo,

Thank you for your additional info, but it’s not right to call for closure of another user’s thread as “resolved” since you did not start the thread. I will test again on my own in a few days.

    Thank you.

I am sorry, it’s my mistake (such a rude doing so)

ps: I just saw your first post and you said you are using Wordfence which it seems has “same” features as Better WP Security / iThemes Security
perhaps you can tried to disable/uninstall Wordfence when using TML with WP 3.9.x

websherpa sorry, it is my fault
