Theme 2014 has no images

  • I have just downloaded and installed WordPress 3.8.1 and everything went fine except when I look at the default page with the 2014 theme there are no images, a white background and ‘Hello World’ text. When I looked in the wp-content/themes/twentyfourteen/images folder it only contained a couple of svg files (pattern-dark and pattern-light).

    When I look at Youtube reviews of this theme it shows a magazine-type look with a grid of images on a black background. Why does my download omit the images? Is this normal and what do I do about it?
