Theme and Members Plugin

  • Hi, I’m new to WP and have decided to use WP for a members application. The application will require from the frontend – registration, login, change password, etc. This application will have a community where on a wall the members can on the frontend post new content and also on the frontend comment on posts. The members will also have a profile page etc.

    I’ve looked at many member plugins and downloaded the plugins. Either the login uses the actual WP login for the admin panel which I do not want or it doesn’t have a frontend post option. Ultimate Member was good but the plugin for the frontend post wouldn’t work. OR I should say the textarea didn’t appear because when installing it didn’t give me the option to create the page for it. I created the page but no luck. Looks like a few others were having the same issue with no resolution.

    Basically my question is, what’s the best member plugin in your opinion. Also what’s the best template if it was made for a member type website.

    I forgot to add the registration form, I need to add more than the standard registration fields. I need to add form fields and the ability to add JavaScript when someone selects certain options it will display different results.
