Theme breaks upvote box plugin

I am using the Hueman Theme with the Casepress Upvote plugin. I know it’s an old plugin, but we’ve been using it for a while now, and it’s for an intranet, so it’s ok.
The problem is that all excerpt posts on home page or category page, the upvote box gets malformed and breaks the HTML.

This only happens with this theme, compared to the default Twenty Something ones, and the other ones we were using so I am not sure why it doesn’t work.
