  • Hi chpalatinus. I just upgraded a site with v1.5.3 without any problems.

It just happened to one of my sites too (the other ones are fine)

I installed v1.5.3 tonight, and, like chpalatinus, I got this error message:

“The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the index.php file.

    Theme install failed.”

I’ve uninstalled and cannot reinstall, no matter what I try.

Have you tried downloading the theme zip file to your local computer, then installing from there?

It just happened to one of my sites too (the other ones are fine)

Did you update the other sites and it worked fine for them?

When downloading the zip of the theme the index.php is in there and it should be fine.

Just tested installing on my test site from dashboard, worked fine as well.

Same, I updated to 1.5.3 but the fronted didn’t show and I got the message: “Theme corrupted”.
I solved resuming the last website backup with the previous version.
I don’t want to update Hueman for a while… I spent €24 just for this.
Anyway, the theme is one of my favourite. Hope for a tested update soon.

@alexander : Yes, I updated my other sites, and they work fine.
The site I have issues with just became a white screen.
I still can access the dashboard.
First I thought it came from a plugin, so I disabled them all, then when I checked if the website worked with disabled plugins, it worked, but it had reverted to the default theme.
I clicked on “themes” and Hueman was deactivated. When I tried to reactivate it, there was an error message saying that theme wasn’t installed or something like that.

I’m gonna try reinstalling it now and see what happens.

On a side note, would it be possible to have a changelog here one day, when I update, I never know what changes are happening. I know there is one on your website, but it doesn’t match the version of the theme that’s here on wordpress.

OK, I reinstalled it, and everything seems to be working fine (and my settings are not gone).

I still don’t understand what happened.

    The same happened @ davidplusworld.

When I try to upload a new version of the theme as asked for, it says:

Uploads are temporarily disabled, while we are updating the Themes Directory.

Perhaps them doing updates could be the cause of the issues with 1.5.3 – not sure. But I’ll upload 1.5.4 as soon as I can to fix potential issues.

I posted a similar issue. If I try to update the theme, some files are missing and I need to udate manually by FTP.

are the updates being pushed automatically? I haven’t updated manually and now my site is also broken and I get the error message on the back end.

WP does not push theme updates automatically. You can configure automatic updates using a plugin like this one, or by configuring your wp-config.php manually as discussed in this Codex article.
