• I’m moving a blog from a Graphene-themed site to my Brunelleschi-themed site. I copied and pasted all my blog entries (luckily there were only four), but is there any way to keep the comments? Is it possible to edit the comments.php file from the Graphene site somehow and copy the file over to the Brunelleschi site via FTP? I may be dreaming… but I’m thinking outside the box, I guess. ?? Thanks so much!

  • I have no idea why you are copying and pasting anything. If you want to switch themes, just go to Appearance >> Themes and switch the theme.

All of your data is stored in your MySQL database, not in theme files. Switching themes shouldn’t cause you to lose any posts, pages, images, or comments. There is no need to edit theme files.

I apologize for the confusion. Please let me clarify. I have two sites. One for my book, https://www.theinvisiblestorm.com (Graphene), and one for my author site, https://www.juanimahiatt.com (Brunelleschi). I just built my author site, and realized I really ought to have my blog on that site, and not my book site.

By building a custom menu within my book site, I linked the Blog page to go to my author site. I copied and pasted all my blogs from the book site to the author site.

My question is, is there any tricky way to transfer the comments? I was trying to think outside the box, wondering if you somehow edit and copy the comments.php file from one site to the other.

Thanks for your patience. I’m sorry I didn’t explain it very well in the first post.
