    Hi,

    I have Elementor setup on a site using Organic Theme’s Swell-lite theme, which includes a page customizer. Both, Elementor and Organic do require that their own template be used for their respective features to work. When editing a page that has the Organic template, Elementor throws this error message:

    “Sorry, the content area was not found in your page.

    You must call ‘the_content’ function in the current template, in order for Elementor to work on this page.”

    This is understandable, of course.

    Q: How do I call ‘the_content’ function on the Organic template?

  • I’m not familiar with Organic Theme’s Swell-lite theme so I will ask. What does this Theme provide that is missing in Elementor? I’m not pushing Elementor just trying to learn more about alternative themes.

    Hi LesTexas60,

    Basically, the Swell-lite theme has a very well designed layout that is elegant and just good looking. The free ‘lite’ version comes with a basic page layout customizer that allows you to place widgets in various areas. These may include html boxes, content sliders, product features, and the such. Its customization features are a step up from most of the basic themes out there. The pro version contains even more features.

    With that said, I think Elementor does have bigger and better facilities to manipulate the layout and add content features, which provides greater flexibility than Swell-lite. Case in point, the free version of Elementor allows me to create columns on a page and put any type of content within. I can break up the body and footer any way I want. Swell-lite is a bit more limited in this regard.

    I’m working on a site based on the Swell-lite theme right now and would love to use Elementor for several things. Thankfully, while they don’t see eye-to-eye, as it were, they do work together without conflicts. I can work with different pages using their respective templates and everything seems to hold well.

    It would be super awesome if I could get Elementor to work with the Swell-lite template.

    Since I started using Elementor, it seems I can match just about any other theme out there. OceanWP is free and serves as a great compatible base for Elementor. Give it a try and you might be able to get everything out of Elementor and duplicate what you have in your current themes. I was pleasantly surprised as I learned more and more..
