Theme completely unsupported by maker AND community?

Apparently no one actually uses this theme?

The only questions on here are answered by “submit a support ticket at their website.”

But I cannot even submit a support ticket since I do not have the paid for Pro version, and I do not even know if I can use this theme.

Apparently free version users cannot even ask the company a question. There is no Contact Us links at all.

Well here are my questions, but I am unlikely to actually switch to this theme since it seems to be utterly unsupported.

1) What size photos must be used as Featured Image to work with the Slider? The slider is GIGANTIC when trying to use any of my photos already in place.

2) How can one change the fonts and heading colors in the main text area? This was part of Customize in my other themes, but not here.

3) How can I change the background color of the text area from white, which is very bad for reader’s eyes over time.

4) there is an unnecessarily large gap between the Top Bar and Logo area, and the same from above and below the slider. Can this be changed?

Well I’m trying to use The Minimal (free version) but it doesn’t do what it says on the tin (or the review that I read at least).
I can’t get as far as you.
No Slider.
No video.
No Gravatar.
No Flickr.
I do have a paid for website and got my web guy to look at The Minimal and- regarding Flickr- I did everything correctly.
As he warned me beforehand, you get what you pay for.
What I get is a lot of emails suggesting x, y and z. It seems that a paid for premium theme is actually cheaper in the long run than a “free” theme.
