• When I uploaded my theme to my FTP site it worked fine.

When I tried to put it in wordpress through my dashboard it gave me the following message:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function register_nav_menu() in /home/tiabay1/public_html/wp-content/themes/magzimus-blog-magazine-theme/magzimus/functions.php on line 57

Now every time I go to the admin area of my wordpress it says this message.

I dont know what to do.

    Please HELP!!!!

  • What do you mean when you say it worked fine? Do you just mean that the FTP transfer was OK?

If it worked fine, why were you trying to install it through the Dashboard?

What happens if you go directly to your Dashboard by typing your site’s URL followed by /wp-admin, i.e. something like:

    https://yourserver.yourdomain.whatever/wp-admin

Yes, I mean the FTp transfer was OK.

Im not sure what you mean in your second question. Could you explain more?

I was going straight to mywebsite.com/wp-admin… that gave me the fatal error message:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function register_nav_menu() in /home/tiabay1/public_html/wp-content/themes/magzimus-blog-magazine-theme/magzimus/functions.php on line 57

SO what your saying I should use is: https://wordpress.mywebsite.com/wp-admin?

Because when I do that a page appears that says Safari cannot find the server…

Thanks for helping me so far!!!

    Tia

I was expecting you to substitute the appropriate values for your site in there. Since you haven’t provided a link, I don’t know what the proper URL is for your site.
