Theme Customizer blank screen

  • I’m experiencing a problem where theme Customizer breaks when I’m using Easy Google Fonts; i.e. no menu options under the “You are customizing” panel, and a blank/white panel where the page should be previewed.

    I have no problem using the plugin when using a Virtual Machine on my PC; the problem only starts when I copy the site to a Linux server. The rest of the dashboard options work, and the site displays correctly; it’s just the theme Customizer panel that stops working.

    The problem is repeated under different themes, and if I disable the plugin the default Customizer starts working again.

    Hi Adrian,
    It seems to me that the server you are hosting the site on doesn’t allow the plugin to read the local fonts file. I recommend getting a google api key and using that on your server (that will probably sort out your customizer issue aswell). Here are some instructions on obtaining an api key. Try this and let me know how you get on. Cheers

    Thanks Sunny, that would make sense now – it looks like I have some server access/permission issue as I can no longer download plugins or see the WordPress News feed on the dashboard.

    Once I’ve solved that problem I’ll check if the EGF plugin starts working.
