"Theme Demo" appears on my Posts

The problem is in your footer code listed here:

You should be able to change this by simply delete the words “Theme Demo” in your footer.php file, or possibly at the bottom of your index.php file depending on where it’s located.

It seems your site is infected with malware. See this report.

If you can login you can revert to Twenty Eleven theme and check your site again so that you can know if the malware is injected by your theme.

Also, that theme is not released under GPL — so you’d be well advised to dump it and find a good quality theme that is in keeping with WP policy and philosophy. Themes from this site are tested and meet WP standards:

What makes you think there is malware? None of the links redirect away from the site or seem out of place.. Seems like a false report by Mcafee from that site to me.

Thank you all! So, let me get this straight. My Theme, which is a wordpress theme and I downloaded it from www.ads-software.com, is not a good quality from wordpress? When I go into the dashboard, and it says Customize, there are 2 I can choose from – Twenty Ten and Twenty Eleven. Do you suggest I activate 2010. If I do, how do I insert Ads and Links, etc? I am so new at this and am a bit confused.

@shadeypwns, – I will try what you suggested; but I am concerned that WPyogi thinks I should dump it. I selected that theme because it had what I wanted and it is simple.

@krishna Of course I did, that’s why I asked you the question. If you can’t provide the answer then you’re just linking to a random scanning site with no actual evidence of what you’re saying. I can find a malware scanning site right now that says gmail is infected, or facebook, or coffee.com. That doesn’t mean they are, it means there’s a site out there that randomly scans things and reports what it “thinks” is true. If you have an actual reason for why you think the site is “infected” I’d love to see it, hence why I asked the question in the first place.

I did read what WPyogi advised, it was very good advice, with solid reasoning behind it. It’s nice to see that not everyone randomly throws out links with no explanation behind them.

@catlover It seems to me that the only thing wrong with the site is that the footer is misplaced and has that additional text that you don’t want. If someone else can provide a solid reason for ditching this theme then I would by all means do it. At the moment however I don’t get any reports of malware from your site and it seems to function fine except for this small easily fixed problem.

@shadeypwns – I searched the footer.php and the index.php and there was no mention of Theme Demo. The footer.php was a bunch of letters and just didn’t make any sense. No mention in the index either. ???

Could you paste the contents of index.php and footer.php to pastebin and link them here? I should be able to find out exactly where the footer code is at then.

@wpyogi, what do I do? I found a template called Tranquil Reflections on here. Now, if I download this one will it replace it on the site that I am using now? Will I be able to place ads on it.

I checked out the site you sent to me above, so that means I am blacklisted? What does this mean for me? I just want something that is easy and I can get up and running. Do I have to also call my hosting site to tell them or is this all automatic?
