theme designs

Hi everyone, I’m new to WordPress and I’ve been trying to find a theme that I like but so far I haven’t been able to do that. I’ve searched all over the place and it seems like I’m finding only sites of web hosts pushing free themes with low quality so you sign up for their service.

Does anyone know where the good themes are made/purchased? I’d really appreciate some pointers (and URLs), and I’m sorry if I’m not posting this question in the right category, I couldn’t find a better one.
