Theme disappeared after mistaken edit

  • I mistakenly edited my theme without creating a child theme, which seems to have broken the theme. It is not showing up at, and the css that used to be there is now gone in the editor. Is there any way to bring back a theme’s css after it disappears?

    Re-install the theme or download a copy and use it to restore the affected file.

    I attempted to reinstall the theme, but it said the theme was already installed.

    If it is activated, activate a different theme so you can delete it and re-install it. WordPress should still remember your Dashboard settings for the theme, but you might have to re-position your widgets after again activating it.
