Theme dissappeared

We downloaded and activated this theme. We also created Child Theme to ensure that all updates do not affect the changes we are making in the theme. Today the whole web-site disappeared and the note said: The Active theme is broken. There’s no further information on what had happened. So we are wondering what could have caused it? Thank you
