[Theme: Edge] Need to remove space where sidebar was & stretch content

  • Hello! I was wondering if I could get some specific help. I’ve been looking through forums and can’t get my problem solved.

    I wanted to have a sidebar only on specific pages and posts and that option wasn’t coming up on my edit pages so I decided to get a sidebar plug-in that allowed me to get a new sidebar that would specify what pages it would go.

    Problem is, the Main Sidebar widget is still there and wouldn’t give me an option to delete it.

    So I took all the widgets off of the Main Sidebar

    Of all the pages, I really want the home page to not have a sidebar so I put
    .home #sidebar {display: none;}
    in my custom CSS.

    I don’t think that code worked because
    1. there is a blank space where the main sidebar was and I can’t stretch the rest of my content all the way over.
    2. I’m having the same issue on my About Me page.

    So I would love if someone could help me with exactly what I need to do with this sidebar issue. I want my content to stretch all the way over on the pages that I want to remove the Main Sidebar.

    Afraid that Edge is a commercial theme – so you really should speak to Themeforest to help you remove the primary side-bar. The author of the them provides free support for 6 months after purchase.

    I am having the same issue with my theme, ARCADE. It is a free theme by bavotasan.com (https://themes.bavotasan.com/themes/arcade) and they do not offer assistance on it. They refer anyone with this theme to the www.ads-software.com support forum. It would be great if someone from where we were referred, could help those of us with the theme who are unable to correct this issue. I have tried several coding variations myself and spent plenty of time searching the internet for other answers to no avail. If someone could actually help us, that would be fantastic. Thanks.

    Id like to do the same with the free theme SKT-Charity.
    I was able to prevent the sidebar from displaying on some pages, but the space where the widgets used to be is unusable, it only shows blank space.

    What I intended was to totally make a 100% full width page.

    Any help?
