    Hi,

I am new to WordPress and have just installed it. I have successfully done so. I have attempted to customize a theme based on default customizing options(no coding changes), however did not find any joy as the web page hardly resembles the look of the theme. Is it possible to get a website just like how it appears in the picture of the theme or do I have to follow specific nuances while developing a website in word press.
    Thanks.

  • Are you talking about the way the theme was structured, or the individual images that were in the screen-shot (or demo) of the theme? Many themes provide a picture of how their theme can look using stock images that they use throughout in order to show you the visual appeal that it can offer. However unless they provide an option for importing the dummy content you will need to find your own images and fix the layout in the settings (which should be doable) Let me know if you need help.

    Hi
Thank you very much for your reply. I was traveling and hence did not have internet access. I understand there are limitations to the way themes are customized and are dependent upon the particular theme. I have used vantage theme and it has worked. However I am using MinAmaze and I have tried to create a child theme but it is not displaying properly.

The child theme is working properly now, had to change the path in the import url statement.
    Thanks
