[Theme: Esplanade] Header Image Never Shows, Makes Content Disappear

My problem is similar to Mr. Schuler’s: my custom header logo is available from the Media library. When I choose it from the Appearance>Custom Header page, the logo is displayed in the preview box for cropping; I crop it and click upload. I’m returned to the Customer Header page but the preview box is empty and there’s no thumbnail of the logo either although the radio button arrangement clearly indicates that the theme believes one exists.

Please make sure you are using at least WP version 3.4 to use this feature.

I am using version 3.4.1, so that isn’t the issue unfortunately.

My header image loads up fine and I’m able to select which one I wish to use. However, whenever I have the header image activated, the website gets messed up, not showing the header image or any content that is normally displayed between the navigation bar and the footer.

Would it help if I post the code I have for the header?

Daniel: I’m also using the latest WP version 3.4.1.

I did manage to get my logo up yesterday afternoon. I had to delete all the remaining version from Media and from the Uploads folders and then upload the .png from my local hard drive.

My artwork, prepared in FireWorks, measures exactly 1082px x 180px but the WP cropped it anyway though I chose to “skip” the cropping, leaving an ugly white border about 3px wide on all (4) sides. Is there any way to get a custom header that bleeds to the edge. Or get rid of the gray border around the header?

I decided to uninstall and then reinstall the Esplanade theme again. This seems to have fixed the problem, and now I am able to upload a header image with no problem.

i’ve got the same issue with the header in the Esplanande theme.
I uninstalled and reinstalled it but it’s not coming back.
I’ve plugged some widgets in, might they be interfering? Which one could that be?

Also, I thought that the Esplanade theme was using the twenty eleven and twenty ten, since they all of a sudden showed up in my filezilla.
But now that I’ve reinstalled Esplanande, they didnt come back with it…

OK, I fixed it by reinstalling the Esplanade theme AND wordpress itself!
Only now the pages don’t work anymore…I get a 404 error.
Do I need the Twenty Ten or Twente Eleven themes for this?
Cause I threw them out…
