Theme file updates – Added/deleted/modified by who?

  • Hi,

    I have iThemes Security plugin installed with File Change Detection enabled. I often get emails with Files added/deleted/modified and I want to know if this is normal for themes to update their files?

    I am using Twenty Ten theme.

  • No – it’s not normal. Theme files are only updated in two specific situations:

    1. You have edited the theme’s files (which we usually do not recommend)
    2. You upgraded the theme.

    If I haven’t edited the theme files, could this be a hack?
