Theme for Main Site Only

    I don’t know if there’s an obvious answer to this question, that I’m missing:

    If I want to have a network and use a specific theme just for the main site, is there a way to activate one theme for this site only?

    I’m planning to use sitewide tags to display posts from the sub blogs, but I want to use a custom theme w custom taxonomies, etc and don’t want that theme available to normal users.

    Yes.

    First, go to Network Admin -> Themes and make sure the theme is NOT network activated.

    Then go to Network Admin -> Sites and EDIT the site you want the theme on. Go to the Themes tab on that page and select the theme you want to use.
