Ok. I can’t recreate this problem on any of my installs, so I need you to:
1) Install Server Buddy and check that everything is set up correctly on your install: https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/serverbuddy-by-pluginbuddy/
2) Turn off all plugins and try saving. If it does save, and color is successfully switched, it means there’s a conflict with another plugin.

BTW, what’s your WordPress version?

I can make my site work! I need to install 3 plugins!

Exact same problem, using Worpdress 3.4.2, currently locally on my mac with a virtual server.

I have no plugins installed except Askimet & Hello Dolly (both disabled)

Serverbuddy is saying everything ok except :
Server configuration : PHP Magic Quotes GPC disabled (suggestion) enabled (value)

Ok, I just got to the bottom of this and upadted the theme. You’ll need to go to my website and re-download (updating in repository may take some time). After this you’ll need to set theme options again. Please let me know if this solves your problem.
