    Hello,
My name is Joe and I learned Friday evening that my blog had been hacked. At what time it happened earlier in the week is uncertain. My blog is https://www.gayleague.com/wordpress. It’s a comics site for LGBT comic book readers.

The hacker gained access somehow and hacked the customized version of the default theme I use. Lots of text had been added to the header image, so much that it spilled over into the footer and toolbar at the top of the dashboard page. They had also removed all my widgets and replaced it with one that displayed an image, text, and sound.

Backtracking a bit before the hack…. I downloaded a widget (“Defend Internet Privacy”) sometime last weekend and placed it in my sidebar.

I thought the hackers changes had all been fixed. Today I tried to redo an old post with a simple copy/ paste of an updated text file. All looked fine until the preview when nearly all the content (text & images) did not appear. I looked back at the post editing window and the amount of text there reflected the preview page content. I tried writing a test post and the same thing happened.

I am at a loss now after checking what I think are relevant files and not finding any changes or malicious code. To be honest though, I’m uncertain if I would notice it.

Any suggestions, help, and tips will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

    Joe Palmer
