• Hello- I chose WordPress Classic 1.5 because it was the first one. Thinking it then the simplest. But there are a couple of aspects that I would like different. Anybody willing to help? the page is https://www.kanigerlandis.com/blog Under the title Culinary Hotline I would like to write an unchanging descriptive sentence. I would like to write periodically a column that stays put- either top or side- then would archive that column and posts. The side bar is confusing, don’t need the meta stuff…. Thank you so much in advance for any help or pointing towards the right direction (I really don’t want to have to do the html stuff if I can avoid it, I know, don’t yell I’m trying to start a business, there is only so much I can do) thanks again

  • The first issue is an easy fix if you look in your Settings Tab under General you’ll see a tagline section just type your message there and it will display under your title.

For the post that you want to stay put you might try this plugin.

Probably the easiest way to fix the sidebar is to use widgets. If you look in your Design tab under widgets here you can add only the widgets you need and want. Here is a page explaining some of the widgets and what they do.

T jeremyclark13- First, I already had what I wanted typed into the tag line but it comes out on the page as a comment – not a fixed tag line. Second, I can’t figure out how to ‘activate’ wp-sticky (it is dropped into the correct wordpress folder) and third
On the edit widget page it says I’m not currently using any, I try to edit meta to remove from sidebar and can’t.
