• Is there an issue going on with WordPress? I contacted Yahoo and they said it must be on your end. It also won’t allow me to change the URL and gives an error. Any advice would be wonderful!

  • When you ask, “Is there an issue going on with WordPress?”, what exactly are you asking? That is, this forum is for self-hosted versions of WordPress from www.ads-software.com. Thus, at a host level, there are thousands upon thousands of different “ends”. ??

Moreover, when you say, “It also won’t allow me to change the URL and gives an error.” What is “It”, where won’t it allow you to change the URL, and what error message is it giving?

My guess is that you’re using WordPress.com. If this is correct then you should go here for support:

    https://en.support.wordpress.com

If I am wrong, and you are using a self-hosted version of WordPress then you should read this handy guild to including as much information as possible so folks have a better chance of helping you:

    https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Forum_Welcome#Include_as_much_information_as_possible

P.S., If it turns out that you’re using a WordPress.com hosted site, and you leave here to go get support over there, please be sure to mark this thread “resolved” using the dropdown in the sidebar. It saves other volunteers from looking into questions that have already been answered. ??

Hmm, wait a minute. A theme install through Yahoo? Is Yahoo your host? And if so, what theme are you trying to install? And, how are you exactly (i.e., step by step — up to the eventual error message) trying to install the theme.

P.S., LOL, my theory about you being on a WordPress.com hosted site has changed! ??

Oh, and have you tried installing any other themes the same way you’re trying to install this one? And, if so, what happened? Moreover, what about plugin installs? Successful or not? Lastly, how about one click WordPress updates? Any success with these?

It’s not my host but a client demanded that the website be created within Yahoo WordPress. I called Yahoo as I keep receiving errors and they keep saying that is must be on the WorkPress end. I’ve never created websites within Yahoo so this is pretty frustrating.

This is what I receive when I try to install any theme besides the 6 they openly give you.

    Downloading install package from https://www.ads-software.com/themes/download/raven.1.0.26.zip…

Download failed. error:0D0890A1:asn1 encoding routines:ASN1_verify:unknown message digest algorithm

FWIW, I’ve seen a lot of people have problems with Yahoo hosting – any way to convince your client to find a better host?

I’m thinking I could just create it as I normally do and transfer the files. Is this easy with Yahoo? Nothing else seems easy with them.

I wouldn’t count on it – just based on a number of recent threads on these forums. But that’s something you’d have to talk to Yahoo about.

    (It’s evidently a server issue…)

Ah yes, @wpyogi to the rescue again! Thank you. And note the conclusion from the link @wpyogi suppled. Specifically the text I bolded:

This error is caused by your server having an outdated version of curl and/or the OpenSSL library.

Modern SSL certificates are signed using the SHA-256 algorithm, which your older code lacks support for. You need to update your server, or if you have a webhost, they need to update it for you.

Note that all older versions of OpenSSL are considered to be dangerously insecure, and you should be updating these in any case. If the webhost cannot update the server, then it’s time to find a new hosting service.

Hi Randy – LOL – give credit to Google :)! I’m clueless on server stuff.

    All hail Google! ??
