Theme integration in Twenty Fifteen

Maybe to clarify:

I would like the slider to appear on top of the page either all the way from the left of the left sidebar to the right of the main bar (preferred) or just on the main bar but sort of sticky on top. Not sure if that is possible with that theme. While it looks nice it seems to be kinda unflexible.

Thanks for raising this.

I’ve experimented with various layouts and I think it works best at the top of the main content area.

The sidebar on the left is fixed to the top so would seem integral to the design/concept of the theme and placing anything above breaks the layout.

The main content is limited to a 990px width so it makes sense to stay within that too. A more squarish slider seemed to work best – I’ve noted the dimensions I used at the top of the quick guide:

Thanks for the quick reply and solution!

I immediately tried it. You are right, it would break the theme if the slider was above both bars.

On my blog (which just started and doesnt have much content yet) it actually looks better if i make the slider as wide as the posts beneath it (625px) and not as tall (just 160px) and turn off stretch, but i guess thats a personal choice. The filmstrip view is only for the paid version i think, i am still using the free one so far -> just started out)
