• I purchased a theme that had good ratings, but I soon discovered that the support is terrible. The theme came with Master Slider and Visual Composer, which I am unable to update myself as it was purchased together with the theme. The developer is apparently supposed to update them for me, but they haven’t done so, and I am unable to work on my site! I have contacted them for help numerous times with no reply. What to do in this situation? Swallow my loss and buy another theme? Or is there a way to work around this?

Examples of site not working right: Visual Composer elements cannot be edited, Media library cannot be accessed, Master Slider won’t save changes etc.

Thanks for any advice, and I do hope I posted this in the right topic.

Is there any way you could organise a support deal with the author? The author is in the best position to help you, having full knowledge of the theme. Unfortunately we don’t support commercial themes so it’s best to forward you onto the right people.

It’s weird, after I gave them a low rating he actually contacted me, but since I wrote back several days have passed and STILL no answer from him. I’m relatively new to WP, this is the 3rd site I’m designing through it, so I just wanted to know how common this is. I guess I can keep bugging him but I do have a client waiting for his work as well. Yikes!

In my experience from using the forums, it is common for people to think they are entitled to more support than the author is going to provide. It sounds like your case is slightly different, where the author is not providing the support that they agreed.

Yes, I’m not asking him to customize or anything, I just want the site to work.

Support for commercial themes is not provided here on the www.ads-software.com forums. If you are not happy with the service provided by the theme author you need to take up the matter with them or the marketplace you purchased the theme from.

    Hello,

Don’t know if you have tried using a different browser to work on your website?

I had strange problems with a theme recently which included RevSlider + VC, I couldn’t seem to edit or save any layers when working on my website in IE, when I tried to use Firefox I had no problems.

    Might be worth a try!
