Our site is using Generatepress theme. We find that we prefer the ‘default’ Generatepress template but want it without the sidebar showing on the event page. Normally, Generatepress gives this option to disable on individual pages. However, because The Event Calendar isn’t using any shortcode pasted on the page, but accessing the theme directly, we can’t see a way to do this.

Is there a way to make this work to disable the sidebar for just that page? Maybe some way to have it access a CUSTOM PHP file from Generatepress that isn’t in the options list?

    I have reviewed this: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/k/template-customization-example/
But found nothing in there that points me to disabling the sidebar while looking like the default theme.

    Hi @starhorsepax2 ,

    Thanks for reaching out!

Can you try changing the “Events template” setting under Events > Settings > Display? Does it make any difference?

    Best regards,
    Marta

We ended up buying the Pro so we could use the shortcode instead (although if we try and reset the permalink to /events/ it just reverts to the other.

Now we are having trouble with the title length overflowing into neighboring box. I looked for a way to adjust that but see no settings at all. All the suggestions to add functions to limit it are out of date for the issue of the updated new style. Isn’t there SOME way to do it? It’s a mess if you have a lot of events.

    Hi @starhorsepax2 ,

I’ve checked, and the titles are displaying fine from my end. See the screenshot.

Have you managed to deal with your issue?

    Best regards,
    Marta
