Theme issue when running WordPress 5.1.1

  • I’ve updated WordPress to 5.1.1, but the theme seems to cause a conflict which prevents access to the wp-admin/admin-ajax.php meaning that I cannot add or update plugins.

    The only work around that I have found is to disable the theme, update and add plugins in Twenty Nineteen and then reinstall theme once plugins updated.

    It’s okay, I’ve resolved it. I had been hacked and someone/thing had inserted malware on the theme’s functions.php

    Once I had cleaned it up everything went back to normal.
