• I have a homepage and I wanted to try out a new theme for it, so I downloaded the “Septera” to my localhost so I can work with it before I put it out on the web. But when I try to change the layout so that only my blog- and portfolio page has sidebar but all other pages don’t it won’t work.

    How come? Best regards Micke

I noticed that it works in Edge and Firefox but not in IE.

@mickeseise, such a general quesiton without screenshots is unlikely to result in a valuable answer. Could you provide more information and share what you’ve already tried including screenshots? Thanks!

Here’s the last site I built with Septera to give you some ideas of what it can do: https://chicagoganghistory.com

@jhabdas, I looked at your site (very nice! & interesting!!). I’m a newbie at this stuff and am setting up my site as a combo of resume/portfolio & blog. I’m trying to figure out how to get a sidebar on my Blog page, but keep the sidebar off of my other pages (About, Resume, Work, Testimonials, etc.).

From the Customize Menu/Tool, the only options I see are for the Main Layout to have a sidebar. When I select one of the layouts that has a sidebar, this places a sidebar on my Blog page, but (unfortunately) places a sidebar on every other page on my site as well.

Do you know how I can get the sidebar on just the Blog page? Will I have to use a child theme? (I’ve done some reading, but am unsure if/how I can use the child to override the parent formatting of the Blog page.)

    Thanks for your help!
