• Hi = I’ve tried embed code from YouTube, plug-ins and shortcodes, cannot make the “recent posts” section of this theme display a YouTube video embedded in a post. All I get is “Image Placeholder”.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

    Hi Topside,
    So it is same site as on other thread. OK

    Generally:
    On Youtube site: find your video, click share then embed and copy the iframe code.
    Before you copy the code you can click on more and tweak video before copying the code.

    You should choose where you want to put the video, in the POST/PAGE editing menu click on the HTML NOT visual EDITOR and put this code there.
    Safe and it should be OK

    <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/DDWKuo3gXMQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

    Change the source inside the frame to the address of your youtube video :

    src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/DDWKuo3gXMQ"

    src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/YOURVIDEO"

    Hope Im helpful
    Cheers

    hi TahoeRock

    I already know how to do that and have done it successfully many times. It’s not about how to embed. I am talking now about what appears to be a malfunction in the THEME.

    I embedded the video in a post. When I view the post by itself, it works great and the video plays fine. So this is not an embedding problem – at least I don’t think so.

    The theme is supposed to display your 3 most recent posts in a section on the homepage of the site.

    When I select the post for display in the home page (a post where normally the video plays fine) the post itself displays on the home page, but the video won’t play on the home page.

    That’s what I’m trying to fix.

    Hi Topside,
    OK I understand now.
    Anyway. I was not able to solve your wish.
    I installed your theme on my server, created test embeded video post and gave it featured image.
    It is working as you described. Video in the post plays well, Last ? post are shown on the homepage and it is not possible to see any video on the homepages post excerpt.
    I would say that Theme Modality is working this way by default. I have mostly Responsive theme in use and it is a same.

    This will really depend on your theme, so which theme are you using would be a start, if it is a well known or free theme then it will be easier to answer?
    The best way is to contact theme author. They know the best.
    Here is Theme Modality forum

    This is for now.
    Im sorry I was not helpfull
