Theme not actually switching

I am being told that a new theme that I started running last week is requiring Java updates and keeping my site from running. The host told me to switch to the default them and then back to the theme I was using previously. The problem is that WP is telling me that the theme is changing but the host is telling me that nothing is actually happening and that is why I am still having problems.

I need help actually getting the theme to change.
