theme not loaded

hi,
i just duplicated one web site from one server to another.
very easy and quick job indeed.
the backend works fine.
the frontend is not loading the theme apparently.
the original site was placed inside a subfolder of the root.
the target site is also located in a subfolder of the root.
should i change any paths?
